This sauce was born in when Small Axe Peppers donated more than 3,500 serrano pepper plants to GrowNYC’s community garden partners. In general, they donate the peppers to these community gardens in the Bronx, then buys their ripened peppers for a premium price at harvest time. This buy-back model keeps production local and provides direct support to the community gardens and gardeners. A truly caring (and delicious) mission.
